It’s not often that we get to interview a dog. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Well my name is Penelope Lane, Penny for short. I am a one year old Boston Terrier/French Bulldog mix. My mom tells me that I’m a princess but I just feel like an ordinary puppy. And to be honest with you I’m not even sure I know what a princess is because, ya know, I’m a dog.

Walk me through your perfect day.

Did you just say “walk”????……. Well that’s really tough. I would have to say hanging out with my people friends and my best buddy, Tank, chasing a wide variety of small rodents, a 30-minute belly rubbing session, and any and all human food.

What are your thoughts about Cardboard Helicopter’s culture?

It’s fun being able to run around the studio all day and play with all the exciting toys everywhere! I get sleepy just thinking about it.

What is your favorite part of the day?

I love coming to work! First of all, it consists of at least two car rides which are just fabulous. Then I get to lounge around in the AC all day and help test products!

When testing a product, what do you look for?

Number 1: is it edible? I understand that’s kind of a gray area because most things are “edible” to me, but if it can be eaten, I may choose to do that. And number 2: anything with a high-pitch squeak is always very desirable.

How involved are you in the design process?

While we agree that no products should be tested on animals, all products here must be met with my approval! I smell and taste-test everything we work on, and when no one is looking, I might even give it a little nibble. Shhhhh.

What part of the design process do you enjoy most?

My favorite is the beginning, middle and most of the end where I get to be lazy. The team only wakes me during important meetings and when final approval is needed.

What is your favorite product of all time?

Do plastic bottle caps count? If not then I would say I’ve really been enjoying this squeaky rotisserie chicken my dad bought me.

What did you do when the Cleveland Cavaliers broke the Cleveland sports curse?

Well I was very excited but I’m more of a Browns fan because they have a cuter mascot.

So where did all the socks go?

I have no idea what you’re talking about.
